<p>A high level team by the Union Ministry of Health has inspected the site offered by Karnataka Government in Hubballi-Dharwad to set up AIIMS in Karnataka, Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Ashwini Kumar Choubey informed Rajya Sabha on Tuesday.</p>.<p>"Request for setting up of <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tag/aiims" target="_blank">AIIMS</a> in Karnataka has been received from the State Government including from the Chief Minister of the state. The site suggested by the State Government for establishment of AIIMS in Hubli – Dharwad region has also been inspected by a Central Team," he said.</p>.<p>The decision to set up AIIMS is before the competent authority, the Minister said in his written reply.</p>.<p>The Minister was replying to a question by BJP Rajya Sabha member K C Ramamurthy, who asked when AIIMS is likely to be set up in Karnataka.</p>
