CM, Gowda undergo rejuvenation therapy

Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy and his father-JD(S) national president H D Deve Gowda are undergoing rejuvenation therapy at private Ayurvedic centre at Muloor near Kaup since Sunday night.

They arrived at the Ayurvedic treatment centre situated inside Sai Radha Heritage at Moolur to beat the stress after the Lok Sabha elections. Media have been barred from entering the centre. The policemen, who are deployed outside the centre, are not allowing anyone to reach the chief minister.

Kumaraswamy and Gowda have been suggested to follow a vegetarian diet by a team of doctors.

Dr Tanmay Goswami, along with other four doctors, is treating them. The treatment is called Ayurvedic Panchakarma Rasayana Therapy. Dr Tanmay said that it is mainly to rejuvenate the body and strengthen the system. “We have prescribed some Ayurvedic medicines too which will assist in rejuvenation process speedily,” he said.

“For a minimum four days, they will have to undergo the treatment and depending upon the political situation, the course can be cut short. We are giving them only vegetarian food as the vegetarian diet is a must for treatment,” he said. A team of 20 helpers are assisting in treating the leaders.

MLC S L Bhoje Gowda and Tourism Minister Sa Ra Mahesh also have arrived with the chief minister.

Meanwhile in a tweet posted on Monday, Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council, Kota Srinivas Poojary said that he wishes good health for the chief minister as he wants to speak to him for 30 minutes about sand shortage issue that has put the life of labourers out of track in Udupi district.

Kota said that he needs 30 minutes of the chief minister to find a solution for the sand scarcity issue in Udupi district.
