CM launches Adi Jambava Corporation

Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy on Thursday said his government would make concerted efforts towards implementing the Justice A J Sadashiva Commission report.

Speaking at the launch of the Adi Jambava Development Corporation, Kumaraswamy said the government would also make special allocations to other backward classes and SC/ST corporations in the upcoming budget. The Corporation would get maximum benefits, he added.

The chief minister said that the government would ensure justice to the Adi Jambava community (SC left). “The government will not cheat you,” he added.

Kumaraswamy made this assurance even as pro and anti-slogans were raised with regard to recommendations of the Sadashiva Commission, which seeks to provide internal reservation among SCs.

The sloganeering started when veteran Congressman and leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge and MP K H Muniyappa addressed the gathering.

Kumaraswamy said the duo were good leaders and that the community members should not suspect their intentions with regard to implementation of the report. He appealed to the groups not to divide the two leaders.

Kharge said that he was not “God” to solve all the issues faced by the community. “Though there are 543 MPs and 224 MLAs, nobody is raising voice for the betterment of the community. If I do, I don’t get the required support,” he rued.

He claimed he had neither organised or taken part in caste-based conventions.

Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara said the government was not opposed to implementing the report. He said the report was being discussed at the government level. “I too want the report to be implemented at the earliest. Don’t presume that the government is opposed to implementing the report,” he added.
