<p>The Karnataka High Court on Tuesday asked the Speaker to take a decision on or before May 7 over the disqualification of seven rebel MLAs of the JD(S).</p>.<p>Justice Raghavendra Chauhan issued the direction and said the Speaker had to inform the court about his decision by May 7.</p>.<p>The court was hearing a petition by JD(S) MLAs C N Balakrishna from Shravanabelagola and B B Ningaiah from Mudigere (SC reserved) constituency, who have moved the court against seven of its rebel MLAs - B Z Zameer Ahmed Khan (Chamarajpet), N Cheluvarayaswamy (Nagamangala), A B Ramesh Bandisiddegowda (Srirangapatna), H C Balakrishna (Magadi), Akhanda Srinivasa Murthy (Pulakeshinagar), Iqbal Ansari (Gangavati) and S Bheema Naik (Hagaribommanahalli).</p>.<p>The petitioners had contended that the seven MLAs stood disqualified from the time they voted against the official candidate of the JD(S), B M Farookh, in the Rajya Sabha election held on June 11, 2016. They had sought a direction to the Speaker to disqualify them.</p>
