Chikkaballapur decks up for second district literary fest

There will be discussions on poems, articles, books, passages and other literary works. Artists, literaterus, poets, the who’s who of the literary world and the world of art and culture will interact on a single platform.

Preparations are on at a brisk pace for the upcoming two-day Chikkaballapur district second Kannada Sahitya Sammelana to be held at the premises of Nandi Rangamandira on May 4 and 5. It will be a festival of various literary, cultural and music activities.

Discussions, presentation of papers, poetry reading, interactions, etc will mark the event. A large number of thinkers, liltterateurs, poets, subject experts and resource persons will be participating.

Various sessions

The first district Kannada Sahitya Sammelana was held at Shidlaghatta in the month of March. Apart from literary and cultural activities, various sessions on current affairs and issues of social concern will also be held.

Elected representatives and several leaders will be expressing their views on various issues related to the district. After from mind-bogging matters, an evening will be marked for the Hasyotsava too.

All the programmes will be conducted at the Yogi Nareyana Mahamantapa and Sir M Visvesvaraya Auditorium. Veteran litterateur ‘Kaipu’ Lakshminarasimha Shastry will be the Sammelana president. Union Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs M Veerappa Moily will inaugurate the Sahitya Sammelana.

Special in its own way

All efforts have been made to ensure that the Sahitya Sammelana did not limit itself to discussing matters related to literature. It should be a multifarious affair and should encompass all the aspects of the society.

Instead making it monotonous and a boring affair, the organisers have decided to include art and cultural programmes in between. Apart from pravachanas, Yogi Nareyana Thathaiah’s sankeerthanas will also be presented.

Both, Hasyothsava and Nageloka will send the audience into peels of laughter on both the days of the event. Veterans who have contributed in the field of literature, culture, dance, social service, sports, etc will be felicitated on the occasion.

Every effort is being made to ensure that the event will be different of its kind and a special one. All the associations, organisations and institutions are contributing their best to make the programme a grand success. Each and every person will celebrate and rejoice in the Kannada festival.

A model event

President of the district Kannada Sahitya Parishat S V Nagaraj Rao told Deccan Herald that with massive support will all quarters of the district, event will be a model event, to be remembered by one and all. Already invitations have been dispatched to all the members of the district Kannada Sahitya Parishat.

Everyone is welcome to participate in the Kannada festival, he said. He further said most of the sessions in the Sammelana will focus of the issues related to Chikkaballapur district. Resolutions which will encompass the views and opinions of every person will be included and passed.

The resolutions list will be handed over the deputy commissioner, which will be forwarded to the Government, he added.
