'No cases of swine flu in Chikmagalur'

Public need not be panic over it, said Deputy Commissioner R Narayana Swamy.

Speaking to presspersons on Wednesday, he said that as a precautionary measure, the district administration has asked for masks and tablets. “Four beds have been kept ready in district hospital to treat the patients. The Government has sent 2 N-95 three layer masks and 50 tablets.”

“We have already kept ready uniforms and protective kit for the staff to treat the patients, if any case is reported in the district. District-level officials meet will be convened on Thursday,” he informed.

The woman from Tarikere who died in Davangere was not suffering from swine flu. He appealed to the public to maintain a distance with a person suffering from fever and provide treatment immediately. Awareness on swine flu will be created by distributing pamphlets on swine flu and its symptoms, he added.
