He was speaking after inaugurating the office of Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana in Chikkaballapur on Wednesday. The benefits of this Yojana should also reach even those places where only a single family resides, he added.

MLA K P Bache Gowda who spoke on the occasion opined that the opening of the Yojana office in the district would be helpful in the development of the region. But it is responsibility of the people and officials to main the quality of the road constructed under the Yojana, he added.

Agricultural Producers Marketing Committee President Chandrashekhar, Deputy Commissioner Anwar Pasha, Zilla Panchayat CEO N Krishnappa and others were present on the occasion.

Meet

Wakf and Minority Minister Dr Mumtaz Ali Khan said that Rs 20 crore had been approved by the government for the construction of Administrative Complex which will house all the district-level offices and Rs 5 crore towards the construction employees quarters.

He was speaking at the District MLAs Meet at Deputy Commissioner’s office in Chikkaballapur on Wednesday. The meet was presided over by the minister.

The district in-charge minister said that Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa would be invited to perform the foundation stone laying ceremony, schedule to be held in the month of September. The administrative complex would reflect the historical tradition of the district, added Khan.

MLA Muniyappa said that the plan of the complex should be such, that it should emerge as one of the finest examples of architecture.

Bagepalli MLA N Sampangi suggested that the foundation laying ceremony should be held on September 15, the birthday of Visveswarayya.

Gauribidnur MLA N H Shivashankar Reddy, Chintamani MLA Dr Sudhakar and Chikkaballapur MLA K P Bache Gowda echoed the view that the quality of construction should be of good standards. They also added that a office should be provided to DC, district in charge minister, MPs and MLAs of the distirct.

The proposed complex and office of the Police Department will come up on 60 acres and 10 acres of land respectively at Gopalakrishna tank in the taluk.

Deputy Commissioner Anwar Pasha said that Karnataka Housing Board has been entrusted with the construction of the complex.

The foundation stone laying ceremony for the construction of swimming pool at Sir M V Ground will be held on July 8, expressed Pasha who said that the pool was being constructed at a cost of Rs 1.5 crore.

SP Ravindra Prasad, Zilla Panchayat CEO N Krishnappa and Head Quarters Assistant for Deputy Commissioner G S Nayak were present.
