PU results: Kolar fails to improve its last year score

However, despite there was improvement in percentage, it could not have bettered its position.

Of 11, 713 freshers 6,308 students have passed. While the pass percentage in Arts division is 46.28 per cent, 60.42 per cent in Commerce and 60.04 per cent in science.
As many as 9378 students in towns and 2334 students in rural areas had appeared for the PU exams.

This year 34 cases of malpractices had been reported in the district.
“Although, the results are good this year, the overall performance of the district is not very encouraging. Chamarajanagar, a backward district has jumped to fifth position but the reasons for poor performance of the district are yet to be ascertained.”  “A meeting of PU college principals will be convened to look into the issues and suggest measures to improve district’s position,” said  PU and Vocational Education Deputy Director Vijay Verma.

Classes begin from June 1
Strict instructions have been given to commence the classes from June 1 this year. Besides, orders have been issued not to utilise the services of teachers for admission and other purposes. There are plans to have surprise inspection to colleges, he added.   R Divya (Science) of Sahyadri PU College is the topper in the district with 97 per cent (579) and V S Sahana (Commerce) is in second position with 96.33 per cent (578). She is the student of Bhagwan Mahaveer Jain College, KGF.
