<p class="title">BJP State President B S Yeddyurappa said that the fate of the Kumaraswamy-led JD(S)-Congress coalition state government, will be known in a fortnight. </p>.<p class="bodytext">He spoke to reporters in Belagavi on Tuesday.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Yeddyurappa said that some coalition legislators were unhappy with the irresponsible statements of the Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Kumaraswamy's outburst against north Karnataka people saying they had no moral right to demand crop loan waiver because they had not voted for JD(S); had not gone down well with some coalition MLAs. The sentiments of northern region voters were hurt. </p>.<p class="bodytext">Yeddyurappa revealed that coalition MLAs were considering options and the fate of the coalition government would be known in a fortnight. </p>.<p class="bodytext">Yeddyurappa said, BJP was opposed to the bifurcation of the state. Its leaders B S Sriramulu and Umesh Katti, had made strong statements on the separate state issue only because the state government had neglected the development of north Karnataka districts, he added. </p>.<p class="bodytext">Yeddyurappa also clarified that he was not in favour of smaller states. “Post-independence, we have striven hard for the unification of the state. Many have sacrificed much for the cause of a united Karnataka," he noted.</p>.<p class="bodytext">He said that JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda was silent on the statehood issue.
