<p>The connoisseurs of art and watercolour paintings get ready for a Chitra Santhe in the City for the first Chitra Santhe to be held on Oct 3 near Metropole Circle. <br /><br />The event conceptualised on lines of Chitra Santhe that is held every year at Chitrakala Parishat in Bangalore, will be catering to artists, art lovers and art buyers. <br /><br />The Chitra Santhe, Mysore - 2010 would be held under the aegis of Vishwamanava Vidyarthi Yuva Vedike, said Ravindra Joshi, honorary president of the forum.<br /><br />Addressing a news conference here on Saturday, he said about 300 artists across the Country are expected to participate and display their paintings for exhibition and sale. <br /><br />Metropole - Shivarampet<br /><br />The day-long Chitra Santhe would be held from Metropole Circle in front of Nanjaraja Bahadur Choultry and may be extended till Shivarampet. <br /><br />Each artist is likely to display about 30-50 of their works, Ravindra Joshi said. <br /><br />First of its kind<br /><br />According to him, the initiative was the first of its kind in the cultural capital. It aimed to encourage the artists and provide a platform for the art lovers to appreciate and buy the best piece of work. <br /><br />Similar programmes would be organised in Hubli and other cities too, he added. <br /><br />Artists<br /><br />The artists will arrive from Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Praesh, Kerala, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and West Bengal. Senior artist V B Hiregoudar would inaugurate the Santhe, he said. <br /><br />Suresh Gowda, president of the Vedike, Sharath and others were present.<br /></p>
