The Department of Public Instruction has issued a circular stating that students in the rain-ravaged areas of Kodagu district can join schools in any part of the district or the state in order to continue their education.

According to the circular, the affected students can join schools of their choice
anywhere in the state without having to submit birth certificate, transfer certificate or ID proof.

They could continue in the same class they were studying before the rain havoc. These students would also be exempted from wearing uniform to school.

In such cases, students or parents, have to submit a self-attested letter and rejoin the same class in which they were studying previously.

The department has asked officials to submit a list of textbooks, with title, needed to be supplied to students who have lost them in the rain. The Karnataka Textbook Society has been directed to meet the demand immediately.
