After a few men were allegedly seen strolling naked on the Gokarna beach on the west of Sirsi in Karnataka, demands for implementing a dress code have been given to CM H D Kumaraswamy.
According to a report by the Times of India, the Karnataka State Women's Commission chief NG Nagalakshmi Bai has written a letter to Kumaraswamy, asking him to strictly implement a dress code for men on Karnataka's beaches.
The letter describes the incidents of male nudity as: " not only posing a threat to the safety of women and children but also a security threat". The commission says it does not have a problem with men revelling on the beach as long as they are wearing proper beach attire.
