Rains lash Haveri again, 382 houses damaged

As many as 382 houses have been partially damaged due to incessant rains. Due to the breach of  a canal at Aladakatti, 20 houses in the village have been flooded.
Rainfall recorded in the district since Saturday are as follows:
Haveri taluk (30.4 mm), Ranibennur (10 mm), Hanagal (16 mm), Savanur (0.9 mm), Byadagi ( 11 mm) and Shiggaon (9 mm).

Protest
Villagers of Aladahatti, on Monday morning, staged a protest in front of Gram Panchayat office accusing the administration for non-maintenance of drainage, which led to the flooding of houses.

The villagers demanded that appropriate compensation be awarded to owners of houses that have collapsed due to heavy rains in the village.
