Gokak MLA Ramesh Jarkiholi said that he would soon quit as MLA of the Congress party, but has not decided when he would do it. “As of now, technically, I am an MLA of Congress. I will decide the next course of action after quitting,” Jarkiholi said.

Speaking to reporters after casting his vote at Gokak town in the district on Tuesday, he said after the Bharatiya Janata Party denied party candidature to former MP Ramesh Katti from Chikkodi Parliamentary Constituency, its State President B S Yeddyurappa held a meeting with him and pacified him, and also took him on board to campaign for the candidate selected by the party, but no such thing has happened in Congress.

"Despite Congress leaders being aware of my unhappiness about the party, none of them have spoken to me or approached me. I need to decide on the next course of my political career. Decision on resigning from the party will be taken soon. After this, I will make my next move known, he added.

Forest Minister Satish Jarkiholi has been making statements against me out of frustration and will not allow him to destroy political career of my brother. "If my younger sibling Lakhan becomes an MLA, I will be most happy," he stated.
