Shah leads massive roadshow for Sriramulu in Badami

The BJP held a show strength through a massive roadshow led by party president Amit Shah at Badami, the constituency where Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is contesting.

Thousands of party workers took part in the roadshow despie the hot sun, to express support for BJP candidate B Sriramulu. The roadshow was held at 12.30 pm, with Shah, BJP chief ministerial candidate B S Yeddyurappa and Sriramulu waving at the crowds.

Speaking on the occasion, Shah said, "Looking at the crowd here, it is certain that Siddaramaiah will lose here and Sriramulu will win. Sriramulu is set to create history in the land of the Chalukyas.

Union Minister Ramesh Jigajinagi, Lok Sabha member P C Gaddigoudar, MLC Arun Shahpur and other leaders took part in the roadshow.

Addressing a press conference here, Yeddyurappa claimed that Sriramulu will win with a margin of 25,000 votes. He said he would take oath as chief minister on May 17 and promised to release Rs 200 crore for the development of tourism in Aihole, Pattadakal and Badami within a week of taking charge. The state BJP president said that the huge election verdict in favour of the BJP in Uttar Pradesh would be repeated in Karnataka, thus belying the election surveys.
