Mysuru emerged as the third cleanest city in the country, under ‘Swacch Survekshan 2019’, city ranking survey, conducted by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), in January. 

The city also bagged five stars in the garage free cities category.

The results were announced today in Delhi. The authorities of MCC are in Delhi to receive the award.  As many as 4,237 urban local bodies, across the country, had participated in Swachh Survekshan.

Mysuru, which had won the Cleanest City award twice in 2015 and 2016, had to be content with the best ‘Cleanest Medium City’ (for a population between three lakh and ten lakh) award, last year. It had slipped to the eighth spot in 2017 and 2018.

In addition to the city, Periyapatna, T Narsipur and Krishnarajanagar local bodies have been nominated for the awards.
