Tourism Minister Sa Ra Mahesh on Saturday said that he would submit a Rs 500 crore proposal to Chief Minister for the development of Badami, Aihole and Pattadakal.

“These places will be developed on the lines of Hampi to attract more tourists. Funds would be sought from the Centre,” he told reporters. “Aihole village will be relocated at a cost of Rs 261 crore.

The district administration has identified 100 acre land for the purpose. Houses at two places in Badami will be relocated and roads will be widened. Tourism plaza at a cost of Rs 30 crore will come up over 24 acre land at Pattadakal,” he said.
