Women own over 80% houses under PM Awas Yojana: Prime Minister

After digitally handing over keys of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban (PMAY-U) houses to 75,000 beneficiaries in 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 5 said that Under PM Awas Yojana, over 80% of the houses are either owned by women or they are joint owner of these houses. “It is great that for three days in Lucknow, experts from all over the country are going to gather and brainstorm on the new nature of cities of India. The exhibition which has been organised here, it displays the achievements of 75 years and the new resolutions of the country in this nectar festival of independence,” said Prime Minister.
