<p>The final conference of Outgoing US Secretary of State <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/anthony-blinken">Antony Blinken</a> on January 16 turned into a chaos when journalists confronted him over the Gaza conflict.</p><p>The conference took place a day after the Gaza ceasefire deal between <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/israel">Israel</a> and <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/hamas">Hamas</a>, which will take effect on January 19, was <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/world/gaza-ceasefire-deal-to-take-effect-on-jan-19-qatari-pm-says-3357614">announced</a> by Qatar's Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani in Doha.</p><p>The people who trained guns at Blinken included an editor for The GrayZone, Max Blumenthal and another journalist named Sam Husseini.</p><p>Max fired accusatory questions in a loud tone while Blinken was delivering his speech.</p>.<p>He asked, "Why did you keep the bombs flowing when we had a deal in May? Why did you sacrifice the rules-based order on the mantle of your commitment to Zionism? Why did you allow my friends to be massacred?"</p><p>Max who was escorted out of the conference room shouted in the end saying, "How does it feel for your legacy to be genocide?"</p><p>Journalist Sam on the other hand was manhandled and dragged out in the middle of the conference.</p><p>After being held by the arm he shouted, "Get your hands off me."</p><p>Moments later, he started screaming, "Everyone from Amnesty International to the ICJ is saying Israel is doing genocide and extermination, and you're telling me to respect the process?"</p>.<p>"Criminal! Why aren't you in The Hague?" Sam yelled as he was dragged out of the conference room, the video of which went viral on social media.</p><p>Throughout both the instances, Blinken was seen quiet and keeping his calm.</p><p>Israel's cabinet has <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/world/israeli-cabinet-approves-gaza-ceasefire-accord-due-to-take-effect-sunday-3361117">approved</a> a deal with Palestinian militant group Hamas for a ceasefire and release of hostages in the Gaza Strip, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said a day ahead of the agreement's scheduled start.</p><p>In the early hours of Saturday after meeting for more than six hours, the government ratified the agreement that could pave the way for an end to the 15-month-old war in the Palestinian enclave, which Hamas controls.</p><p>Netanyahu's office in a statement said, "The Government has approved the framework for the return of the hostages. The framework for the hostages' release will come into effect on Sunday."</p>
