Fired with accusatory questions, Antony Blinken's final conference turns into chaos as journalists dragged out

The final conference of Outgoing US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on January 16 turned into a chaos when journalists confronted him over the Gaza conflict.

The conference took place a day after the Gaza ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas, which will take effect on January 19, was announced by Qatar's Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani in Doha.

The people who trained guns at Blinken included an editor for The GrayZone, Max Blumenthal and another journalist named Sam Husseini.

Max fired accusatory questions in a loud tone while Blinken was delivering his speech.

He asked, "Why did you keep the bombs flowing when we had a deal in May? Why did you sacrifice the rules-based order on the mantle of your commitment to Zionism? Why did you allow my friends to be massacred?"

Max who was escorted out of the conference room shouted in the end saying, "How does it feel for your legacy to be genocide?"

Journalist Sam on the other hand was manhandled and dragged out in the middle of the conference.

After being held by the arm he shouted, "Get your hands off me."

Moments later, he started screaming, "Everyone from Amnesty International to the ICJ is saying Israel is doing genocide and extermination, and you're telling me to respect the process?"

"Criminal! Why aren't you in The Hague?" Sam yelled as he was dragged out of the conference room, the video of which went viral on social media.

Throughout both the instances, Blinken was seen quiet and keeping his calm.

Israel's cabinet has approved a deal with Palestinian militant group Hamas for a ceasefire and release of hostages in the Gaza Strip, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said a day ahead of the agreement's scheduled start.

In the early hours of Saturday after meeting for more than six hours, the government ratified the agreement that could pave the way for an end to the 15-month-old war in the Palestinian enclave, which Hamas controls.

Netanyahu's office in a statement said, "The Government has approved the framework for the return of the hostages. The framework for the hostages' release will come into effect on Sunday."
