Myanmar Earthquake Highlights | Nearly 150 dead, over 700 injured
A powerful earthquake of 7.7 magnitude struck central Myanmar on Friday, which affected neighbouring Thailand as well. The quake was recorded at Latitude 21.93 N and Longitude 96.07 E. Myanmar’s military government said at least 144 people had been killed and 732 injured, but the full extent of the toll was hard to assess in a country that has largely been isolated from the rest of the world. In neighboring Thailand, at least seven people were killed and dozens were missing after a skyscraper under construction collapsed hundreds of miles away in Bangkok.
