Gadgets Weekly: Sony FX6 camera, Samsung Level U2 and more

Popular technology majors such as Samsung, Sony, Panasonic among other launched new smartphones, cameras, and accessories such as earphones and wireless speakers this week (January 31-Feb 6).

DH's Gadgets Weekly edition lists the latest prominent personal technology products to keep you abreast of everything that's happening in the world of consumer electronics.

Sony FX6 camera and E-mount lens
Japanese major Sony earlier in the week unveiled the new FX6 camera (model ILME-FX6V), a full-frame professional camera and E-mount lens, 16-35mm (FE C 16-35mm T3.1 G).
Sony FX6 comes with a 4K Full-frame back-illuminated CMOS Exmor R sensor backed by fast Hybrid Auto Focus (also used in Alpha cameras and FX9) and BIONZ XR image processing engine (first used in Alpha 7S III). It supports high-quality recording up to 4K 120p / HD 240p, 10 bit 4:2:2 colour depth in full-frame. it also supports for up to 12G-SDI and 4K at up to 60p 16-bit SDI RAW output

It is compact and lightweight body design for on-the-go shooting and has ultra-high sensitivity with ISO expandable to 409,600 for very low light conditions and support a wider range of tones with 15+ stops of dynamic range in addition to S-Cinetone look profile (also used in FX9 and inspired by VENICE colourimetry).

It is compatible with more than 50 E-mount lenses and SELC1635G lens offers accurate operability and intelligent shooting functions.

Sony's E-mount lens, 16-35mm (FE C 16-35mm T3.1 G) promises high optical performance, reliable operability and intelligent shooting functions for professional video creation.

It is compatible with a wide range of E-mount cameras from VENICE to Alpha Interchangeable lens cameras. "The addition of this new lens, optimized for professional video shooting, brings unprecedented creative flexibility for content creators. We will further enhance its Cinema Lens line-up going forward," the company said.

Sony FX6 Full-frame camera costs Rs 599,990 and with the FE C 16-35mm T3.1G E-mount lens, it costs Rs 6,79,990.

Sony FE 35mm F1.4 GM
The Japenese company also launched FE 35mm F1.4 GM (model SEL35F14GM). It is the newest addition to the acclaimed G Master full-frame lens series. It promises to exceptional image quality and beautiful bokeh for broad expressive capability in an extremely compact and lightweight design. The FE 35mm F1.4 GM boasts advanced focusing capabilities combined with Sony’s camera bodies. It is a perfect solution for a wide range of uses such as shooting landscapes, portraits and street photography, both stills and video. It costs Rs 1,64,990.

Samsung Level U2 wireless headphones
Samsung Level U2 is a hybrid canal earphone with IPX2 waterproof rating. It supports SBC, AAC and scalable codec and promises high quality and stable music with BT 5.0, 12mm speaker unit and 2 microphones. With Samsung's Scalable codec technology, Samsung Level U2 analyzes surrounding wireless to transmit optimal sound for seamless playback.

It is said to offer up to 500 hours of standby life, 18 hours of steady music playback and 13 hours of talk time on a single charge. The retail package includes a USB Type-C port for charging. It costs Rs 1,999.

Panasonic Lumix BGH1 camera
Panasonic's new Lumix BGH1 camera is the first box-style digital single-lens mirrorless camera. It is compact, light-weight cinema camera that can be used for just about everything a professional filmmaker might need – from documentary to full-on cinematic films to event coverage and live streaming.

It can be noted that LUMIX Panasonic BGH1 is approved by Netflix as a primary camera for filming Netflix Originals, making it the first Micro Four Thirds camera to be on the list.

"Designed for versatile video production, the camera is an ideal choice for cinematographers, DOP’s, filmmakers and production houses to provide the uncompromised cinematic experience," the company said.

It can be easily mounted on drones via IP remote control for live streaming and other complex set-ups. The new range is equipped with deep learning real-time detection technology to provide precision focusing of subjects and a double SD Card slot for backup recording or relay recording.

Lumix BGH1 comes integrated with a 10.2-megapixel Live MOS Sensor with Dual Native ISO technology and the Venus Engine. Dual Native ISO is a technology that seamlessly bridges two circuits of separate native ISO, which is used in Panasonic Varicam models for professionals. The camera allows a maximum ISO 51200 high sensitivity recording. The

Lumix BGH1 enables 4:2:0 10-bit C4K/4K 60p / 50p internal video recording. The camera records video with a designated gamma curve compatible with ITU-R BT.2100, and the user can now choose Hybrid Log-Gamma (HLG) in Photo Style. A low-bit-rate recording mode C4K/4K HEVC/H.265 for HLG is also available.

In addition to a USB 3.1 Type-C, a 3G-SDI and an HDMI Type-A terminal are equipped, which can be used for simultaneous output. Moreover, Genlock IN and Timecode IN/OUT functions which enable multi-angle synchronized video recording are available to build a scalable system with external monitors, rigs and gimbals supplied from other manufacturers. It costs Rs 1,94,990.

Fossil Gen 5E
The new Fossil Gen 5E smartwatch sports a 1.19-inch AMOLED display with Water-resistant/swimproof (up to 3ATM) rating and inside, it comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100 chipset with Google's Wear OS by Google. It has a speaker, 1GB RAM, 4GB storage, heart rate sensor, Accelerometer, Gyroscope, supports wireless syncing with phones (iOS 12 or later and Android 6.0+, excluding Go edition), and Tethered GPS.

It also boasts 300 mAh cell with smart battery modes, Magnetic rapid charging (50 minutes to 80%). It also supports Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, Microphone, Audible alerts, LED flashlight, Music control & storage, Calendar alerts, Social watch faces and customizable dials, Weather and comes with tre-installed applications including Spotify, Noonlight, and Cardiogram. Its price starts at Rs 18,495.

iTel A47 series
The new iTel A47 comes with a 5.5-inch HD+ (1440x720p) LCD screen, 1.4GHz quad-core processor, Android 10, 2GB RAM, 32GB ( + 32GB via microSD) storage, 3,020mAh battery, which is just enough to keep the phone running for a day under mixed usage.

As far as the photography is concerned, it boasts dual-5MP AI snapper on the back with LED flash and a 5MP selfie shooter with soft flash support. It comes in three colours -Cosmic Purple and Ice Lake Blue-for Rs 5,499.

Samsung Galaxy M02
The Galaxy M02 sports a 6.5-inch HD+(1560 × 720p) display and comes with a 1.5GHz MediaTek MT6739W octa-core processor backed by PowerVR Rogue GE8100 GPU, Android 10-based One UI with 2GB/3GB RAM, 32GB storage (expandable up to 1TB), and a 5,000mAh battery, which is sufficient enough to keep the phone running more than a day even under heavy usage.

Samsung phone flaunts a dual-camera module-- main 13MP(f/1.9) with a 2MP (f/2.4) macro snapper with LED flash. On the front, it features a 5MP (f/2.0), shooter. It costs Rs 6,999.

Poco M3
It comes with 6.53-inch full HD+ (2340 × 1080p) LCD screen with Corning Gorilla Glass 3, an 11nm class Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 octa-core processor with 6GB RAM, 64GB/128GB storage, Android 10-based MIUI 12 OS, and a massive 6,000mAh battery, which is more than enough for the phone to last two days easily under mixed usage. It also supports an 18W charger.

As far as the photography is concerned, Poco M3 houses a triple camera module-- main 48MP(f/1.79) with LED flash + 2MP depth + 2MP 4cm sensor (f/2.4) with LED flash. On the front, it flaunts an 8MP (f/2.05) sensor. Its price starts at Rs 10,999.

Realme X7 5G series
The generic Realme X7 comes with a 6.5-inch full HD+ (2400 × 1080p) AMOLED screen with up to 600 nits brightness, In-display fingerprint sensor and houses 7nm classMediaTek Dimensity 800U octa-core processor backed by Android 10-based Realme UI, 6GB / 8GB LPDDR4x RAM, 128GB (UFS 2.1) storage, quad-camera module- 64MP(f/1.8) + 8MP 119-degree ultra-wide angle lens (f/2.3) + 2MP 4cm macro sensor-- on the back, a 16MP (f/2.2) front snappera and a 4,310mAh battery with 50W fast charger.It comes in two colours-- space silver and Nebula.

On the other hand, the top-end Realme X7 Pro comes with a 6.55-inch full HD+ (2400 × 1080p) AMOLED screen with up to 120Hz display refresh rate, peak brightness of 1200 nits, In-display fingerprint sensor, Gorilla Glass 5 shield.

Inside, it comes with 7nm classMediaTek Dimensity 1000+ octa-core processor backed by Mali-G77 MC9 GPU, Android 10-based Realme UI, 8GB LPDDR4x RAM, 128GB (UFS 2.1) storage, quad-camera module- 64MP(f/1.8, Sony IMX686 sensor) + 8MP 119-degree ultra-wide angle lens (f/2.25) + 2MP retro potrait lens + 2MP 4cm macro sensor-- on the back with LED flash, 32MP (f/2.45) front snapper and a 4,500mAh battery with 65W fast charger.
Realme X7 price starts at Rs 19,999.
