We have been hearing about Apple working on a foldable iPhone prototype and has started testing key components such as flexible screen and durability of the hinge that will hold together two panels, the display rests on. But, there was no credible information when the commercial variant finally reaches the hands of the consumer.

Now, we may have the Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) of the foldable iPhone. The news is coming straight from market analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who by the way has the credit of revealing 5G support in iPhones launching in 2020 and also how many models (four) will come.

In previous years too, he has maintained a good track record with predicting new features of iPhones much before the official launch.

Recently, in a note to his clients (available with MacRumors), Kuo has detailed the roadmap of Apple and suggests that the foldable phone will come in 2023.

However, the Cupertino-based company is still carrying out tests on prototypes. Once, it finalizes the design, Apple wants to secure the supply chain in procuring components. Only then, it will be able to set the ball rolling for a foldable iPhone launch in 2023.
