<p>Two unidentified men hurled a tender coconut at a young woman professional, slapped her on the face and abused her when she was going to a gym near her house in Jayanagar 7th Block in southern Bengaluru on Monday evening. <br /><br /></p>.<p>The woman contacted the Bengaluru police commissioner on Twitter and was advised to lodge a complaint at the jurisdictional police station. The incident occurred near Sapthagiri Chats, opposite Sudhir Medicals near Nethradhama Eye Hospital, Jayanagar West around 7.30 pm, the woman told Deccan Herald. <br /><br />The woman, who works for a reputable firm, said when the tender coconut came flying at her from a building, she thought it was a mishap and continued to walk to the gym. Then, she heard some men giggling and throwing more missiles at her. She snapped and yelled at them, forcing them to run away. <br /><br />“I then took a detour but they started following me. They waylaid me near a spot where it was pitch dark and slapped me on the face for shouting at them,” she said. “They were young drunken goons.” She then managed to escape and later took to Twitter to draw the police’s attention. <br /><br />“For a while, I couldn’t realise what was happening. I wasn’t in my senses. I just ran to the gym and informed my instructor who accompanied me to the spot. <br /><br />“The goons were speaking in Kannada and there were some empty liquor bottles. A security guard in the area told me that he has seen the men and they often misbehave with women,” she told this newspaper. “I will approach the Jayanagar police on Tuesday and make a complaint.” <br /><br />The victim said she could neither properly see her attackers’ faces nor note down the registration number of their motorcycle. <br />DCP (South) B S Lokesh Kumar said the police would hunt for the culprits once a complaint was made. <br /></p>
