Karnataka Congress president D K Shivakumar's helicopter was hit by an eagle near Hosakote. He was on his way to Mulabagilu for an election rally. His camera person received minor injuries during the incident.

Resposding to the Congress's promise to ban organisations that promote hatred, Assam CM and BJP leader Himanta Biswa Sarma said, "The PFI has beenalready banned. The Siddaramaiah government withdrew cases of PFI. So they are saying that to appease Muslims that they will ban Bajrang Dal. The Congress is saying that PFI can't say that we will take revenge. The Congress's manifesto looks like the manifesto of PFI and fundamentalist Muslim organisations."

It vowedto purchase cow dung at Rs 3 per kg and establish compost/manure centres in villages involving rural women/youth.
