Pixel phone-maker has set up special same-day repair centres in 21 Indian cities.

Besides Google's exclusive walk-in centres in Bengaluru, Delhi and Mumbai, the company has set up priority service centres with a same-day repair option in Ahmedabad, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cochin, Ghaziabad, Gurgaon, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Ludhiana, Pune, Raipur, Surat, and Thiruvananthapuram.

Owners with Pixel phones, earbuds, and watches have to submit the devices by 2:00 pm at walk-in Google-authorised service centres, to ensure they get back the gadget same day. Also, if there is any serious issue and that particular centre has shortage of components in stock, the owners will be asked to come the next day.

Google has also set up centres that can offer user assistance and basic troubleshooting services in 22 Indian states. Location of the centres is available on the official online Google Store (here).

For the last couple of years, although Google has a limited market share in the Indian smartphone market, it has steadily increased investments in the subcontinent. It started with the local assembly of the Pixel 8 series in 2024 and newer models.

With the launch of the Pixel 9 series in late 2024, it opened the company's first-ever fully owned exclusive walk-in experience centre in Bengaluru, Delhi, and later in Mumbai.

It also began offering Pixel phones offline for the first time. Now, they are available in Croma, Vijay Sales and other authorised retail outlets in addition to Flipkart.

Earlier this year, Google opened the official online store in India. Now, it is further expanding the repair centres to improve the after-sales service experience of Pixel phones. This way, it builds loyalty among patrons.

As the US, Europe and Chinese markets inch close to saturation in terms of phone sales, Apple and Samsung are also increasing their investments in India, which is the world's fastest and second biggest smartphone market.

Currently, the smartphone user base stands at around 712 million and it is expected to breach one billion users by 2030.

In the coming years, Google is expected to further expand the Pixel stores and even set up its retail outlets.

In a related development, Google is all geared up to host the new Pixel hardware event in August.

It is expected to launch five new devices, including Pixel 10, 10 Pro, 10 Pro XL, and Pixel 10 Pro Fold, along with Pixel Watch 4 and Pixel Buds earphones.
