Aam Aadmi Party has released a YouTube video asking supporters to power their campaign by renaming their WiFi hotspots to “Vote for AAP”.

So everyone in range attempting to connect to WiFi will see the message.

The two-and-a-half minute clip shows a cartoon character, presented as an AAP activist called KD.

The figure in trademark party cap, and carrying the party symbol broom, campaigns in an intriguingway.

“Wherever KD goes, the wave for change travels with him. Let us know how he does it,” the clip informs in Hindi.
The video taps into people’s desire to be connected to the internet while they are in shopping malls, bus stops, college campuses or restaurants. The cartoon sketches in the video show people searching for WiFi connections on their phones and laptops.

“Smart phone and smart idea,” says a caption in the video, which goes on to demonstrate how supporters can create WiFi hotspots on mobile phones and rename them as “Vote for AAP”.

AAP urges keeping the hotspot always on – while at home, work or travel. So that whenever people in the vicinity search for a WiFi connection, the message would be visible.

The video also demonstrates how to create WiFi hotspots on laptops and PCs.
