<p>Six persons, including one in police uniform, allegedly assaulted the driver of a Toyota Fortuner before dumping him near AIIMS and decamping with his SUV.<br /><br /></p>.<p>The victim was waylaid in west Delhi’s Rajouri Garden around 4.30 am on Friday while he was headed to Patiala to deliver some goods.<br /><br />He was admitted to the AIIMS trauma centre for head injuries, but was discharged after treatment.<br /><br />Victim Ravi, 35, has told police that he even heard the robbers talking about killing him.<br /><br />But they changed their mind and instead decided to dump him outside.<br />While the robbers allegedly carried three pistols, he was not shot at. They assaulted him using the pistol butts and punched him.<br /><br />Police at Rajouri Garden have registered a case of kidnapping, dacoity and impersonation. No arrest was made till late Friday evening.<br /><br />Ravi is a driver of a Gurgaon-based businessman who is currently abroad.<br />A police officer said Ravi was intercepted by a man in police uniform flagging him down with traffic police light bars. Believing him to be a policeman, Ravi stopped the SUV.<br /><br />The man approached him and asked him to show the vehicle documents. Just as he opened the car door, the man pulled out the vehicle keys.<br /><br />Immediately, five men emerged from a Honda City car parked nearby and pushed Ravi to the back seat of the Fortuner.<br /><br />Two men sat in the front while two others sandwitched Ravi. The remaining two robbers followed in the Honda City car, a police officer told Deccan Herald.<br /><br />They allegedly drove the two vehicles towards AIIMS via Dhaula Kuan.<br />They dumped him near the hospital around 5 am before driving towards Ashram Chowk.<br /><br />Ravi soon noticed a police control room vehicle patrolling the area and he called out for help.<br /><br />He was admitted to the AIIMS trauma centre and his statement taken down.</p>
