<p>Two main conspirators behind the jailbreak at Sonepat in Haryana and one of their associate have been arrested in the national capital, police said on Monday.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Working on a tip-off that two persons, with illegal weapons, would come near Minto Road on Saturday, police arrested Ravinder Singh, 25, of Bahadurgarh in Haryana and Jitender Singh, 22, of Alipur in outer Delhi. <br /><br />“We recovered a sophisticated pistol and three live cartridges from them,” said additional deputy commissioner of police (crime) Sanjay Bhatia. After their interrogation, police arrested their close aide Shiv Kumar, 21, of Bhakoli in outer Delhi on Sunday. <br /><br />During interrogation, police found that Jitender Singh and Shiv Kumar were involved in the jailbreak at Sonepat in February in which eight dreaded criminals made a sensational escape by scaling the 20-feet high jail wall.<br /><br />Five jail staffers and 10 people, who had conspired and provided logistic support, were arrested but Jitender Singh and Shiv Kumar, the main conspirators, were missing.<br /><br />Both had close proximity with the eight criminals lodged in Sonepat jail. “They told us that on the day of their escape, they had purchased a 20-feet-high ladder and a few iron cutting blades. They were in constant touch with these criminals on phone. <br /><br />The inmates told them the exact location where to throw the blades from outside so that they could reach them with the help of jail staff,” said Bhatia.<br /><br />Police also said they planned the jailbreak to free an inmate whom they wanted to carry out a murder. <br /><br />Ravinder Singh has a criminal history and was earlier arrested by Haryana police in Arms Act. He currently stayed at Rohini sector 24 and ran a small finance company in Burari. “He used to give loans at high interest.<br /><br /> If anyone did not return the money, he used Jitender’s power to recovery his dues,” said Bhatia.<br /></p>
