Woman kills her own babies in Pakistan

In a tragic incident, the wife of an unemployed drug addict in Lahore killed her two babies as she was unable to feed them for three days.

The depressed woman strangled her eight-month-old boy shortly after she had drowned her two-year-old daughter in a water tub Wednesday, The Nation reported Thursday
Bissma, 23, has confessed to the killings and has been apprehended by the police, along with her husband Sunny Khan.

"Her husband was in deep slumber on the bed when she killed her kids in the attached bathroom," a police official was quoted as saying.

She told the police that her children had not been fed for the last three days.
The murders came to light when, on being asked by her husband about the babies, she said: "It is not needed anymore. Kids have been silenced."

The woman also told the police that Khan was a drug addict with no job and no earnings. Her father Muhammad Tahir, a scrap-dealer, was bearing her and her kids' expenses since her marriage.
