Assault on forest watcher: DyRFO suspended

The chief conservator of forest has suspended the deputy range forest officer (RFO) of Balehole in connection with the assault on a forest watcher with regard to the signing of a document. 

Deputy RFO M Veerabhadrappa Nayak Thotadoory had allegedly assaulted bear forest watcher Keerthan N R and the video of the assault had gone viral on social media. 

Accusing Veerabhadrappa of assaulting him, Keerthan had filed a complaint to Kalasa RFO who in turn had submitted a report to the senior officials. 

RFO Ravi said that Veerabhadrappa has been suspended and has been relieved from Balehole. The deputy RFO of Kalasa has been entrusted additional charge of Balehole.
