<p>Bengaluru: SAP Labs India on Tuesday opened its second campus in Bengaluru with an investment of €194 million (about Rs 1,960 crore). The 41-acre campus in Devanahalli- SAP Labs India Innovation Park- has a total capacity to house 15,000 employees, and already 3,200 employees have moved into the new campus and in the first phase, it will house about 4,500 employees.</p>.<p> “The second phase of the campus will be completed by the end of Q3 2028,” said Sindhu Gangadharan, Managing Director, SAP Labs India.</p>.<p> “We have built SAP Labs India Innovation Park to be human-centered, and it is more than just a campus. For us, this is a living lab. It’s designed to bring together our customers, our partners, our academia, our startups and our communities. For us, this is the beating heart of co-innovation at SAP. This is the campus where global problems will meet Indian ingenuity,” she said during the inauguration. The company is betting heavily on artificial intelligence from this campus.</p>.<p>Earlier, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, inaugurating the campus, said Devanahalli is poised to become the next growth node of Karnataka’s innovation landscape.</p>.Siddaramaiah launches Karnataka’s Quantum roadmap backed by Rs 1,000 crore fund .<p>IT and rural development minister Priyank Kharge said, “We are no more the IT-enabled services or the back offices of the world. We are innovating from Bengaluru for the world. The central government had given our growth rate as close to around 8.2% for last year, but we grew at about 10.3% and we are scheduled to grow at a consistent pace of 8.5% till 2035. Bengaluru is going to be the economic engine,” he added.</p>.<p>The new facility, which has a built-up area of 27 acre, is almost twice the size of its existing campus in Whitefield.</p>.<p>With over 17,300 employees, India currently represents one of the largest employee bases for SAP outside its headquarters in Waldorf, Germany. Besides Bengaluru, SAP also has offices in Gurugram, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Pune.</p>.<p>“This campus is a strategic asset in SAP’s global portfolio, enabling us to lead with innovation, and purpose,” said Thomas Saueressig, Member of the Executive Board of SAP SE for Customer Services and Delivery. “It is a global innovation hub that will help our customers move from insight to action with enterprise-grade AI, data, and applications created right here in India,” he added.</p>.<p>“SAP Labs India Innovation Park in Bengaluru is a timely investment in India’s growth story,” said Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.</p>
