Godrej Aerospace to make copter fuel tanks

Godrej Aerospace, a business unit of Godrej & Boyce Mfg Co Ltd, signed an agreement with the UK-based GKN Aerospace, one of the world’s leading multi-technology tier-I aerospace suppliers, to manufacture specialized helicopter fuel tanks.

Godrej will be setting up a cutting-edge manufacturing facility for the production of these specialised fuel tanks.

The rubber fuel tanks are an important consideration in the design and safety of helicopters offering crash resistance and puncture tolerance as well as overall weight reduction. The tanks follow stringent product requirements in terms of weight, the material used, processes and manufacturing skills.
