Hash10 WorldSim, a premier global roaming sim card company, today launched its operations in Maharashtra and will mainly target business travellers.

The UK-based global roaming sim card is already available in cities like Hyderabad, Cochin and the company is in the process of making it available in other major cities soon, Hash10 WorldSim Managing Director Abu Tahir told reporters.

"We plan to increase our presence across all international airports and intend to have a pan-India presence over the next two years," Tahir said.

The card costs Rs 3,000 with an in-built talk time of Rs 500 that can be topped up as per one's need, he said, adding the user would be given a permanent world number which can be retained as long as is required.

For distribution, the company is looking for tie-ups with travel agents and also with Indian air carriers like Jet Airways to sell sim cards on board.

"In Maharashtra, we have exclusive distribution tie-up with Nomad travel agency. Besides, we are also in talks for a tie-up with several Indian air carriers, like Jet Airways, to sell our sim cards on flights," he added.

Internationally, the company has entered into arrangements with major airlines like Virgin Atlantic, Lufthansa and Air Arabia, he said.

WorldSim offers coverage in over 220 countries, free incoming in over 90 Countries and cheap call forwarding in other countries where incoming is not free.

It also allows receiving free SMS across the world.
