2 telco reps dig footpath, booked

The police have booked two representatives of a private telecom company for digging up a newly laid footpath at Southend circle on Tuesday to lay Optic Fiber Cables without BBMP’s permission.

Based on a complaint lodged by Niranjan D M, Superintendent of Horticulture Department, (south division), the Jayanagar police have slapped charges against Jayachandra and Shankar Ganesh under various sections of Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act.

The police said quoting Niranjan that they had dug up over 100 meters of the footpath damaging ornamental plants and the sprinkler system opposite to Kanteerava Park near Southend Circle damaging property worth Rs 15 lakh.
