8 held for cheating banks

As many as eight people have been arrested for cheating various banks using fake documents. The arrested are: Vedanth, N Raja, Padmanabha C N, Lokesh, Santosh Kumar, Latish, Gajendra Kumar and Madesh.

Computers, laptops, printers, mobile phones, fake documents, two bikes, a car and jewellery, all valued at Rs 2.7 lakh, have been recovered.

The suspects would change their names frequently, create fake identity cards, salary slips, income tax returns, voter identity cards and other such documents. They would apply for and borrow vehicle and property loans.

Vedanth, Gajendra and Madesha would create the fake documents, while others would act as agents assisting to get loans from the banks. Based on a complaint, the police registered cases and arrested them.
