Police are looking out for the driver of a luxury car who sped off after crashing into an auto-rickshaw and a two-wheeler in the heart of Bengaluru on Sunday. The accident left three people injured.

According to Cubbon Park traffic police, the accident was caused by the driver of a black-coloured luxury car near Airlines Hotel on Lavelle Road around 1.30 pm. Speeding and driving in a reckless manner, the motorist hit a two-wheeler before crashing into an auto-rickshaw.

Police have established that the motorist saw a two-wheeler rider getting tossed up in the air as a result of the crash. He reversed the car immediately and sped off through Lavelle Road onto UB City. All this happened within minutes and before a crowd gathered there.

The crash injured the auto-rickshaw driver, identified as Kumar, 47, from HSR Layout, and two-wheeler riders Ramesh, 35, and Keshav, 29, both residents of Kaval Byrasandra. All of them have been discharged from the hospital.

Police have registered a case following a complaint from Ramesh and are making efforts to apprehend the motorist, said an officer who's part of the investigation. The accident damaged the auto-rickshaw, the two-wheeler and the luxury car, the officer added.

According to police, surveillance cameras at Airlines Hotel or any other nearby building haven't captured the accident. However, CCTV footage of another restaurant has clearly captured the car.
