The Akhila Bharatiya Brahaman Mahasangha has decided to ask its community members to opt for 'NOTA' (none of the above) in the May 12 assembly polls.

The federation had placed certain demands and said that it would support any political party that would include its demands in the poll manifesto.

The federation sought to set up a 'Brahmana Welfare Foundation', an honorarium of Rs 5,000 on par with moulvis, to enact Prevention of Atrocities against Brahmins Act and to stop targeting practices of the community as blind beliefs.

However, as none of the political parties approached it, the federation members have decided to opt for NOTA.
