Bengaluru traffic cop throwing shoe at violators goes viral

A footage of a city traffic policeman hurling his shoe at a traffic violator has had gone viral recently.

The Bengaluru traffic police, however, said that the incident had taken place five months ago near the BEML junction in North Bengaluru and disciplinary action has been taken against the erring policeman.

The footage shows three men on a motorcycle without helmets riding towards the policeman on his routine duty. The three men are seen trying to evade the policeman.

The irked policeman is seen removing his shoe and throwing it at the offenders while they try to dodge him. The shoe hits one of them. Meanwhile, the trio doesn't stop their bike and flee from the spot. The footage has been recorded from a mounted camera inside a car and though the incident had taken place five months ago, the owner had uploaded the footage on social media which had gone viral since.

The footage, emerging during the time of elections, has raised several eyebrows as they consider this a deliberate attempt to defame the police and the ruling party, sources said.
