The state police have made elaborate security arrangements for the mega meetings organised by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad in Bengaluru, Hubballi-Dharwad and Mangaluru on Sunday.

"We have made all security arrangements at these places and additional police force from KSRP, CAR and the civil police have been deployed for duty at the meeting venues," state Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Kamal Pant said. "We've also provided security on marked routes for people, including guests, to reach the venues," Pant added.

At Hubballi-Dharwad and Mangaluru, the respective police commissioners have been instructed to monitor and supervise security arrangements, including traffic movement.

In Bengaluru, the meeting will start around 4 pm and would go on until about 8 pm at the National College Grounds in Basavanagudi.

DCP, South Division, Annamalai will oversee the security arrangements. Two ACPs, nine inspectors and 30 sub-inspectors have been deployed to oversee 650 policemen, who will be on security duty for the event.

The traffic police have made the major roads to the venue one-way, while parking facility for the attendees has also been arranged. "All precautionary measures have been taken. CCTV cameras have been installed at the meeting venue and the roads leading to it,” Annamalai said.
