Hotel staff caught peeping into women's restroom

An employee of a hotel was arrested for peeping into a restroom when a woman was using it on Sunday night.

The suspect Pradeep (23), a native of Kurnool, had joined the High Street Hotel, 7th Sector, HSR Layout, four months ago.

According to the police, the 22-year-old woman and her family had gone to dine at the hotel around 8.45 pm on Sunday. When she was using the restroom, she noticed someone peeing inside through the ventilator and raised an alarm. Her brother rushed over and saw Pradeep trying to flee. He chased the suspect and caught him, the police said.

Pradeep claimed that he had climbed the stairs adjacent to the restroom and had peeped inside by chance.

The victim's brother has lodged a police complaint. Pradeep has been booked under IPC Section 354 C (voyeurism) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to outrage the modesty of a woman). He was produced before a magistrate and remanded in judicial custody.
