Ecoparadigm’s flagship Kundalahalli Lake rejuvenation project has won the National Water Award for the year 2018.
The project won the award instituted by the Union Ministry of Water Resources under the best resident welfare association (RWA) category.
“Ecoparadigm’s innovative Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) set up at the Kundalahalli Lake in East Bengaluru has helped rejuvenate the lake in an eco-friendly manner that has enabled Kundalahalli resident welfare trust to win the first prize under RWA category,” said Pravinjith, MD, Ecoparadigm.
The award was conferred on February 25 at Malvankar Auditorium, New Delhi.
Ecoparadigm’s award-winning wastewater treatment technology was commissioned at the Kundalahalli Lake in 2016. The project was undertaken in a public-private partnership.
Two Decentralised Treatment Systems (DTS) were installed at the lake that treats around 780 kilolitres of incoming sewage every day. This natural eco-friendly DTS needs no energy or chemicals for water treatment.
“The award is the result of a collective effort and a great example of how teamwork pays off. The resident welfare association’s effort in initiating this project and selecting this technology paved the way for sustainable rejuvenation. We thank all the BBMP officials who were supportive,” said Pravinjith.
