Geetha Vishnu, the grandson of former MP, the late D K Adikesavulu, was high on marijuana when he crashed his luxury SUV into a Maruti Omni near South End Circle on September 28, 2017, leaving six people wounded, says the charge sheet filed by the Central Crime Branch (CCB).

The 600-page charge sheet filed before the 1st chief metropolitan magistrate (CMM) court names Geetha Vishnu’s elder sister, Chaitanya Naidu, and her husband Dr Rajesh Naidu of harbouring him after he broke free from police custody while in Mallya Hospital, which is run by his family. Police seized his Mercedes-Benz and found 110 grams of marijuana inside. He was arrested in Madikeri on October 4.

As per the investigation, on September 27, 2017, Geetha Vishnu partied with his friends — Pranav Devaraj, the son of actor Devaraj, Shashank, Vinod, Mohammed Junaid Rafi and Muhammad Faisal Rafi, Sachin, Adhitya, Adi Narayana — at a hotel. Police have established that all members of the group had smoked marijuana. After the party, Geetha Vishnu left along with Faisal, Shashank, Pranav Devaraj and Junaid. He was at the wheel when the accident occurred.

Police have listed statements of 25 witnesses in the charge sheet and attached medical and forensic science reports to show Geetha Vishnu was high on marijuana at the wheel. Police have also charged two others, Anand and Vinod, for harbouring him.
