Central Crime Branch (CCB) sleuths will start booking property owners along with pimps who run prostitution rackets in the garb of massage parlours both in commercial and residential units in the city.

After taking over as the chief of CCB, Alok Kumar, additional commissioner of police-Crime, held a review meeting with his subordinates and reiterated the need to bring down organised crime in the city.

Kumar mentioned high-profile prostitution rackets operating in the city. “We will start booking property owners of hotels, houses or service apartments used for prostitution along with pimps and rescuing the trafficked women, thus bringing in accountability among owners who should rent out or sub-let their premises only for legitimate business,” Kumar said.

“Our sleuths are aware that these prostitution dens operate in the garb of massage parlours, high-end spa and salons,” he added.

Kumar also referred to the city’s recreation clubs involving in matka, casinos and cricket betting besides real-estate goondaism and land grabbing which is rampant especially in areas with high real-estate activities.

“We will watch over the organised criminal gangs who are mostly habitual offenders and will curb down their activities and menace to citizens,” he said.
