Bengaluru Development Minister G Parameshwara on Wednesday held a high-level meeting with officials to discuss the progress of the comprehensive development plan (CDP)-2031 and development work in the city.

This is the first meeting the minister conducted after he announced that the government was considering taking up the controversial steel bridge project yet again.

At the two-hour long meeting, officials from the Bangalore Development Authority, Urban Development Department and other civic agencies and close to Parameshwara discussed how to put the flyover project back on track.

They also deliberated the agenda on how to place to steel flyover project, connecting Basaveshwara Circle to Esteem Mall, before the people so that it does not get shelved this time.

“The coalition government is of the opinion that the flyover was cancelled because incorrect information was placed before the people. Now there is a need that 'right' information should be disseminated. They discussed what information should be disclosed and how (SIC). However, who will execute the work and when will it start was not yet finalised,” sources told DH.

At the meeting, the progress of the master plan was also discussed. The legal procedures and the next steps on finalising the CDP were considered. As the BDA and the government have decided to place the master plan before people once again for an opinion, the time duration and the course of action were discussed.

It was learnt that Parameshwara was keen to finalise the plan at the earliest and directed the BDA officials to speed up work.
