Last Updated 28 June 2018, 19:54 IST

Four days into the complaint by the staff of Zoom Cars that a hatchback rental car owned by the firm was stolen by one of their customers from their pick-up branch in Central Bengaluru near Garuda mall, the city police are yet to trace it.

However, the police have traced the GPS device at Guntur in the neighbouring Andhra Pradesh.

A senior police officer supervising the investigations into the case said: “We have got leads after going through the call details records (CDR) of the person who hired the car. We are on the lookout for the man and hopefully, in a couple of days time we will nab him.”

A Hyundai i20 Elite bearing registration number KA-03-AD 8193 was booked online by Saikumar, who drove it away around 10 pm on June 18, saying he would be back by the next day within 12 hours.

The following day, as the car did not turn up until evening, the staff started calling Kumar on his phone which was switched off prompting them to approach the police.
