Senior counsel V Tarakram passes away

V Tarakram, a senior counsel practising at the Karnataka High Court passed away in the city on Friday. He was 87.

Tarakram was a leading member of the bar and was known for his expertise in Hindu Law and Civil Law. He was held in high esteem by the members of the bar and the judiciary. He was also a music enthusiast and served as secretary of the Ramaseva Samithi, a city-based cultural and music association.

He was survived by his wife, brother, daughter, son in law and grandson.

“ A lawyer never retires and he was a perfect example of this. He will always be in our hearts,” said VK Nataraj, Tarakram’s younger brother and a former director of the Madras Institute of Development Studies ( MIDS).

Justice S Abdul Nazeer, a former judge of the Karnataka High Court and Tarakram ‘s junior was recently elevated as a judge of the Supreme Court.
