Techie jumps to death after fight with husband

A 27-year-old software engineer jumped from the eighth floor of SNN Raj Serenity apartment complex on Begur Main Road in southern Bengaluru in the early hours of Friday, shortly after a fight with her husband.

Seema Singh, from Madhya Pradesh, had married Pushpendra Singh, who is also a software engineer, two years ago. In a statement to the police, Pushpendra said that after he returned from work around 9 pm on Thursday, his wife “unnecessarily” picked a quarrel, which went on until 12.30 am on Friday.

He said he tried to calm her down her but she did not pay heed. He then went into the bedroom. Moments later, she jumped from the balcony. He said he learnt about it only after neighbours came to his flat.

A Begur police officer told DH that Seema’s parents were yet to arrive in Bengaluru. Police would take their statement and take the next course of action, the officer added.
