More murky details are emerging in the case where a high school boy was sexually assaulted by his classmates in a North Bengaluru school. This even as the school authorities sought to deny the shocking incident.

According to the statement made by the victim to the police, his classmates repeatedly showed him pornographic clips in the school against his wishes.

Disturbed mentally by such incidents, the victim could not even face his mother. On Friday also, the boy was taken to a psychiatrist for counselling.

Besides, the latest revelation has startled many — how did the school authorities allow the children to carry smartphones into the school.

Parents had written to the school authorities — a copy of the complaint is available with DH — urging them to take action against the five abusive students.

A top official of the school management told DH that he has written to all the individual schools asking them to ensure that such incidents do not recur. However, the principal of the school in which the incident took place, said they did not receive any communication from their parent body.

“The boy did not inform anyone in the school. We do not know what happened in the past 50 days when the school was shut,” the principal said. He claimed that the school was being unnecessarily targeted.

“It is still not established whether that incident took place in the school. There is no connection between the school and the incident. We have taken all necessary measures to ensure the security of children. The school is not a party to it and it is between the parents,” he added.

DH is in possession of the documents to show the sexual assault was committed in the classroom and on the school premises. The school authorities also have given a statement before the police on the incident.
