Vijay refutes allegations of assaulting his daughter

Actor Vijay alias Duniya Vijay on Wednesday told the police that he did not assault his daughter Monica as has been alleged.

He turned up at the police station along with his second wife Keerthi Gowda and three others for a notice and recorded his statement.

He claimed that Monica had come to his house on Monday morning in Hosakerehalli when he was talking to his friends. She got angry when he did not open the door. She took a stone and tried to break open the door. When nobody opened the door, she left the house and so there was no question of assaulting her, a senior police officer said.

Vijay also shared a CCTV camera footage. He told the police that she was provoked to file a false complaint against him.

The police also recorded statements of four others, including his wife Keerthi Gowda, Hemanth, Vinod and car driver Mohammed.

The police said Monica confessed that she got angry when his father did not open the door and she hit the doors with the stone.
