Friday will also see the release of Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra-starrer “Anjaana Anjaani”, whose release was postponed last week because the court verdict was originally scheduled to come last Friday.

Apart from that, two other films – “Khichdi The Movie” based on a popular TV show of the same name, and the small budget “Benny and Babloo” – will be releasing this Friday.
The stakes are really high for “Robot”, as it will hit 2,000 screens worldwide in all versions. With top-notch Hollywood technicians involved in the project, the film is being touted as the biggest visual extravaganza ever to come out of the Indian film industry.

Directed by Shankar and starring Aishwarya Rai, the film has been produced by Kalanithi Maran, owner of the Sun TV and grand-nephew of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, and expectations are running high about the film even in the Hindi film market.

Industry sources confided that its makers and distributors were hugely relieved at the way the political parties have reacted to the verdict, and that there had been no untoward incident anywhere following its announcement.

Another big budget film, Priyadarshan’s “Aakrosh” that depicts the story of “honour killings”, starring Ajay Devgn and Akshaye Khanna, was also scheduled to release on October 1 but it was postponed to October 15.

The sense of apprehensions regarding the outcome of the verdict in the film industry had come out in the last two days with messages for peace being Tweeted by prominent stars and directors.
